Ingredients

For the Minted Dark Chocolate:

  • 6 oz (about 1 Cup) high-quality dark chocolate 70% cacao or higher. Ensure it aligns with your diet (i.e. sugar-free, dairy-free, etc.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure peppermint extract or 1 teaspoon fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or cacao butter for a smooth texture
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey, coconut sugar, erythritol, or other sweetener optional, for natural sweetness
  • 1 pinch sea salt enhances chocolate flavor

Optional Toppings:

  • 1 tablespoon crushed cacao nibs
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt for a gourmet touch
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios or almonds for added crunch

Instructions

Melt the Chocolate:

  • Use a double boiler or microwave (in 20-second intervals, stirring between each) to melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil/cacao butter until smooth.

Infuse the Mint Flavor:

  • Stir in peppermint extract or finely chopped fresh mint leaves.
  • Mix well to evenly distribute the mint flavor.

Sweeten & Season (Optional):

  • If desired, stir in raw honey or coconut sugar for a lightly sweetened version.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt to enhance flavor.

Mold & Set:

  • Pour the melted chocolate onto a parchment-lined tray or into silicone molds.
  • Sprinkle with optional toppings like cacao nibs, sea salt, or chopped nuts.
  • Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until fully hardened.

Break & Serve:

  • Once set, break into pieces or unmold your minted chocolate bars.
