Iced Green Tea

Ingredients

  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 4 green tea bags or 4 tsp loose-leaf green tea
  • 1 tsp 1–2 honey or maple syrup optional, to taste
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lime, thinly sliced optional
  • Fresh mint leaves about 1/4 cup
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Heat the water: Bring water to about 175°F–185°F (not boiling). Pour into a heatproof pitcher or teapot.
  • Steep the tea: Add tea bags or loose tea (in an infuser). Steep for 5–7 minutes depending on desired strength. Remove tea bags or infuser.
  • Sweeten (optional): Stir in honey or maple syrup while warm, if desired.
  • Chill: Let the tea come to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold (about 20–30 minutes).
  • Serve: Fill glasses with ice and lemon/lime slices. Pour in chilled green tea and garnish with fresh mint.
