Ingredients

Cake

  • cups all-purpose flour or almond flour for GF
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 medium apples peeled and chopped

Streusel

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp cold butter cubed

Instructions

Streusel

  • In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Chill while making the batter.

Cake

  • Prep the Bundt Pan
  • Grease your fancy shmancy bundt pan thoroughly with softened butter and dust with flour (or almond flour). Tap out the excess.
  • Whisk the Dry Ingredients
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Mix the Wet
  • Cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Add sour cream and mix until smooth.
  • Combine
  • Add dry ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined. Fold in chopped apples.
  • Layer It Up
  • Spoon half the batter into the bundt pan, sprinkle half the streusel, then the rest of the batter, then the remaining streusel on top.
  • Bake
  • Bake at 350°F for 55–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool 15 minutes in the pan before flipping onto a rack.
