Aloe Vera Citrus Cooler, Lime & Lemongrass
Ingredients
- Base Drink:
- 1 cup aloe vera juice unsweetened, inner-leaf or whole-leaf
- ½ cup cucumber thinly sliced
- Juice of 1 lime
- Juice of ½ orange or 1 Tbsp yuzu juice
- 1 small lemongrass stalk bruised and cut into pieces
- 1 tsp honey or agave optional
- A few mint or holy basil tulsi leaves
- 1 cup cold water or sparkling water
- Ice cubes
- Optional Enhancements:
- 1 tsp rosewater or orange blossom water
- 1 –2 slices of fresh ginger or a dash of ginger juice
- Pinch of sea salt or pink salt for mineral boost
Instructions
- Optional Infusion (for deeper flavor):
- In a jug or teapot, combine cucumber, lemongrass, mint/basil, and ginger slices with aloe juice and water. Let steep for 20–30 minutes in the fridge.
- Mix the Cooler:
- Add lime juice, orange/yuzu juice, and sweetener (if using). Stir well.
- Serve:
- Strain if desired for clarity.
- Pour over ice in chilled glasses.
- Garnish with cucumber ribbons, lime slices, mint leaves, and optionally edible flowers.
