  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed or minced
  • 1 cup beef broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 bay leaf optional

  • Olive oil or butter for greasing dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Lightly grease a large baking dish or Dutch oven.
  • Layer Aromatics
  • Spread sliced onion and crushed garlic evenly in the base of the dish.
  • These will act as a flavor base and help prevent sticking.
  • Season & Arrange Pork
  • Pat pork slices dry with paper towels.
  • Season both sides liberally with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Arrange pork on top of onion and garlic layer.
  • Add Liquids
  • Pour 1 cup broth and 2 tbsp Worcestershire gently around the pork.

  • Cover dish tightly with foil or a lid.
  • Bake in the center of the oven for 4 to 4.5 hours, or until meat is fork-tender.
  • Optional Browning
  • Remove foil. Preheat broiler to high.
  • Broil 3–5 minutes to crisp and brown the top edges of pork.
  • Watch closely to avoid burning.
  • Serve
  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
  • Spoon pan juices and softened onions over pork.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, roasted vegetables, or low-carb sides.

Notes

Texture: Moist, melt-in-your-mouth slices; not shreddable but extremely tender.
Flavor: Deeply savory with hints of garlic, onion, herbs, and Worcestershire umami.
